Brian Maxwell’s ’77 Boston Marathon

After Brian Maxwell ran the 1977 Boston Marathon he wanted to tell someone his story of the event. Being the ’70s, without personal computers or the internet, he sat down with a typewriter and wrote a nine-page, hand-corrected, story. He then put it in an envelope and mailed it to his coach Dave Steen.

Years later, after Maxwell’s passing, his son Chris Maxwell received the original in the mail. He has agreed to share this epic tale with the rest of us.
